STOCKIST SHOWCASE: EDICOLE

Very rarely do you walk through a city these days and see old buildings from years gone by. More often than not, these buildings are demolished and rebuilt or redeveloped in a way that changes the whole facade of the place. This isn’t the case for the State Buildings in Perth city centre. If you’ve strolled through the city, you’ve probably seen them.

State Buildings is a broader term used to describe the trio of interconnected heritage buildings on the corner of St Georges Tce & Barrack St. A quick search on Google and you’ll be able to find out more about these buildings including when they were built and what for. Today they’ve been redeveloped and repurposed in a way that retains a lot of the original character. Inside you’ll find a selection of shops and services including food, drinks, a hotel - Como The Treasury and a gift store - Edicole.

Last year I ended up in conversation with Edicole. As it would happen, I was preparing to relaunch the flags and Edicole were seeking out a product/brand to help kick off their summer theme in store. The timing worked out well and after a few emails back and forth I got to work on an assortment of flags to display and sell. Focusing on places close to home (Rottnest Island, Scarborough etc.) and further afield (Margaret River, Albany etc.) the flags are now displayed inside under the canopy of the State Buildings. It’s a good opportunity to see the flags in the flesh and purchase if you see something you like. Alternatively, you can shop all the flags I have here.
